As well as inspiring musicians punk has inspired fashion designers. Punk fashion also became popular with mainstream fashion designers, who have incorporated elements of punk style into their collections. (One of the best examples of this can be seen in many of the designs made by Vivienne Westwood).

Creative freedom (and the lack thereof) is one thing that older musicians as well as modern-day musicians often struggled with when it comes to their record labels. Punk gave rise to the DIY (do-it-yourself) culture, which encouraged artists to self-produce their music and promote it independently. This enabled them to have more creative control over their work and to reach a larger audience.

In addition to its musical influence, punk rock has also been credited with helping to create a sense of community. This community is often seen as a safe haven for those who feel like outcasts, and it provides a platform for self-expression and creativity.
