While last year’s trends were all about miniskirts, this year’s data shows that maxi skirts are on the rise. According to statistics taken from Google searches, the number of searches regarding maxi skirts has surged by over 300%. While a maxi skirt can be styled in many different ways, the most popular idea at the moment is to pair a maxi skirt with a stylish top, a belt, and boots or sneakers.

2. Statement Jewelry

Previously, dainty jewelry was the popular choice. But now, companies like Mejuri and En Route Jewelry have started selling larger and more eclectic pieces of jewelry. Chunky hoops, statement necklaces, stacked jewelry, and mixed metals are all trends that have been on the rise and are expected to peak in the summertime. According to L’Officiel Monaco, the jewelry industry has a projected growth of around 5% per year. The most popular jewelry trends among Gen-Z include chunky hoops, silver, and nature motifs.

3. Basics

Last year, the trends emphasized bright colors and short-lived micro-trends that ended up in landfills due to poor quality. This year, there has been a large push for sustainable fashion and longer life cycles for clothing. Because of this, basics like white tees or blue jeans have been on the rise. Basics can be styled in an infinite number of ways, making them extremely sustainable compared to their micro-trend and impractical counterparts. Investing in high-quality basics ensures longer-lasting pieces and comfort.

4. Neutral Colors

While last summer was all about bright colors and tropical patterns, a more nautical aesthetic is emerging this year. With the ushering in of more coastal and “old money” styles, colors like brown, navy blue, and white have all been on the rise. This color trend goes hand-in-hand with the emerging trend of basics. The interest in these colors has skyrocketed in recent years and is expected to be a pillar of 2025 summer fashion.

5. Boots

While Adidas Sambas and On-Clouds had their moment in 2024, boots have become the go-to choice for an elevated look this year. While the sneakers of last year are still quite popular, the boot has been on the rise to add elegance to any outfit. With the increasing popularity of western wear and office siren aesthetics, cowboy boots and black-leather heeled boots have skyrocketed in popularity this year. Some ways to style these are cowboy boots and denim shorts, heeled boots and a maxi skirt, or a dress and boots of your choice.
