Music has always been an integral part of our culture and traditions. It has always been a way for people to communicate with one another and create a sense of belonging.

Folk songs began their reign over the music industry in the mid to late 1900s with artists such as Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, and Pete Seeger. Folk songs are known for their raw sound that speaks to the genuine human experience. Folk music was also used to talk about political issues such as civil rights and anti-war movements.
